The TRADES5k Run/Walk is built for the men and women of the trades—the ones who put in the work and take care of their own. Whether you’re a tradesperson, a construction student, part of the broader industry, or simply someone who loves to run, this event is about coming together beyond the jobsite.
More than a race, TRADES5k is a fundraiser supporting the family of a fellow tradesperson who dedicated their time and skill to building and serving the communities we call home. A donation from every registration and sponsorship will go toward helping their family during their time of hardship.

Supporting Our Fellow Tradesman
Josh Millies
This year, we run in honor of Josh.
Our fellow tradesman, Joshua P. Millies, age 45, passed away on March 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Nora, and their three daughters, Harlow (16), Reese (13), and Rowan (10).
Josh was a dedicated electrician at Next Electric and a true professional who took pride in his work. But more than the work itself, Josh will be remembered for who he was, someone who cared deeply for his family, his friends, and his colleagues.
His faith was a guiding force in his life. It gave him strength through the hardest moments and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Josh faced his journey with courage, humility, and a quiet resilience that spoke louder than words.
TRADES5K is a reflection of what this industry stands for. Showing up for one another. Taking care of our own. Carrying each other through the seasons that are hardest to walk alone.
A donation from every registration and sponsorship will go toward supporting Josh’s family, including a college fund for his daughters.
